Recognizing and Preventing Violence and Threats in the Workplace
This course examines why these signs are not recognized and provides the latest information on how to prevent workplace violence from occurring. You will explore steps for preventing the problem, the warning signs, and the kinds of aggravating factors that move difficult employee to violence. You will examine why managers, coworkers, even entire organizations go into denial when violence raises its ugly head. And, you’ll become familiar with the profile of a potentially violent employee, how to use a comprehensive screening process to weed these people out, and how to develop positive strategies to prevent critical incidents.
Additionally, you’ll learn how to coach and counsel, and, when necessary, evaluate and terminate difficult employees; including intervention strategies to use during critical incidents, while protecting other employees and yourself. And, you’ll examine approaches for getting your organization back on track following a critical incident.
